Reasons To Celebrate

When my daughters were still living at home, one of them taped a poster up on their bathroom door. It was a giant calendar titled, "365 Reasons To Party" and listed all sorts of reasons to celebrate.

I couldn't remember any of the silly reasons, so I Googled several variations of the phrase and got some interesting results. Apparently, National Whiskey Sour Day is so popular it takes two days in August to celebrate that one. Today was National Feed Homeless Pets Day. (I'll bet they're eager for that one to come around every year.) It is also National Thrift Store Day. (Better hurry before all the good junk gets gone.)

Anyway, it got me thinking about reasons we party. Traditional holidays, birthdays, comings and goings right down to five o'clock tells me we really don't need a reason but I'd like to hear your funniest reason to celebrate. Leave a comment along with your email address between now and the end of the month, I'll pick the three I think are the funniest and present the winners with a copy of my book, In My Wildest Dreams. Who knows? The funniest one might even find its way into a future book so comment away ...  but keep it clean;)
