When I was first introduced to the dark liquid, the only available ingredients to add to one's cup were milk and/or sugar. My parents chose milk only. I never could understand why they opted for no sugar but I was a kid and sugar made everything taste better.
However these days, my choice, oddly enough is cream only. Imagine that. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree apparently. Although lately I have been drinking more plain, black coffee, I'll be willing to try any new flavor.
The coffee market, like any other has expanded to increase sales. Flavored coffee for use with plain cream or flavored creamers to go into plain coffee. The possibilities are astounding. French vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate flavors, doughnut, eggnog, pumpkin spice, and on and on.
