Party!

I was up early this morning for a couple of reasons.

First, I'm baking birthday cakes for my grandson TJ, who celebrated his first birthday yesterday July 12, but is having his party today. The theme is sports, football mainly so I'm doing a sheet cake as a base which will represent the field and a football shaped cake to sit in the green frosting grass. He will also have a cake all his own to do what all one year olds do with a cake, bathe in it. It will be fun!

Next reason to party? I just signed my third contract with Soul Mate Publishing! This time, for a Christmas short story to appear in their second annual Christmas Anthology. Many talented authors will contribute to the book which should be released shortly after Thanksgiving. What better way to sample the writing talent of so many authors in one book?

The title of my story is Christmas Blessings, but sitting here I'm thinking about all my blessings. I'm doing what I love and having fun writing. I have the blessings of a wonderful family and I get to celebrate one of my grandson's first year of life.

God blesses me every day!

  1. So happy for you on the writing and home front. :-) And jealous of your baking skills. We won't get into The Great Cake Pop Failure of 2012. lol.
Enjoy the 1st birthday party and your good publishing news!!

  2. LOL Ali! I, too, bombed on the cake pop efforts. I know it can be done because I've seen successful ones! Can't wait to see you next week!!
